Uday Vaidya
Governor’s Chair in Advanced Composites Manufacturing Professor, University of Tennessee

Dr. Uday Vaidya serves as the Chief Technology Officer for IACMI-The Composites Institute. He is also the University of Tennessee – Oak Ridge National Laboratory (UT-ORNL) Governor’s Chair in Advanced Composites Manufacturing. IACMI (Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation) comprises over 130+ member companies. At ORNL Vaidya is a Lead Composites researcher within the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) on advanced composites and hybrid manufacturing. Vaidya has contributed to advanced composites manufacturing science, processes and product(s) development. His work focuses on lightweight and energy efficient composite for the automotive, transportation, wind, aerospace, infrastructure, defense and industrial applications. Vaidya serves as the Editor in Chief for Elsevier’s Composites B: Engineering, a leading global composites journal. He engages a large number of undergraduate and graduate students in experiential learning contributing to the next generation work force for our industry.
